First off, what’s this new category all about? The Pan America™ is Harley-Davidson’s first foray into the world of adventure touring, which can be considered a subset of the dual-sport bike category. Adventure touring motorcycles are designed to handle paved highways as well as they conquer dirt trails. This makes your bike much more versatile and means you don’t have to invest in multiple bikes to get the riding experiences you crave.

Specs

The Pan America™ 1250 Special motorcycle provides you with the features you need to stay safe on almost any type of terrain, rough or smooth. An adaptive suspension system helps to keep the bike stable, while the skid plate protects its undercarriage. The entire bike is more adjustable, so you can make it suitable for your specific height. Brilliant headlights help you to see the road ahead. Dual front brakes help you bring the bike to a quick and safe stop before you hit an obstacle. Your gear can be stashed in the dry storage compartment to keep it safe from rain and sun. The bike is also designed with duplex seating and flip-out footpegs so that you can comfortably bring a passenger along for the ride.

Style

In a departure from their typical style, Harley-Davidson hasn’t put any chrome on the Pan America™ 1250 Special. Instead, you get cool blacked-out parts and more matte finishes, along with a few different colorways to choose from, including the company’s signature bright orange. With this new dirt-bike styling, you’re still going to turn heads, but in a new way.
